Learning (premium article)

Albert Einstein said: “Any fool can know. The point is to understand.”

Benjamin Franklin said: “Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn.”

Both quotes are important for the point we are making in this article. You need to continue to learn. Nothing is worse than a doctor who has left university 20 years ago and didn’t keep up with his trade. Likewise the mason who still uses the products from 20 years past and likewise YOU when you continue to expect a workforce that starts working at age 15, introduced in the factory by dad, who was in turn introduced by grandfather, and continues working there in the same department until the company gives him the golden watch and allows him to retire.

We need to stay actively learning, all the time. With Franklin, we need to ensure we are involved. If you are not involved you cannot contribute and if you don’t contribute, your chair belongs to someone who will contribute.
